KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WMKK)
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW HANGAR AND ASSOCIATED WORKS FOR
ASIA DIGITAL ENGINEERING
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Facilities for Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) are currently being constructed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, Selangor. The work involves the construction of a new parking apron, a new taxiway connecting the new parking apron to the existing Compass Swing Apron and Taxiway E5, and hangarage facilities.
2 PURPOSE
2.1 This AIC informs the aviation industry about the schedule and scope of construction activities on the aircraft movement areas at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. These activities will result in temporary changes and restrictions on the Compass Swing Apron and Taxiway E5.
2.2 The construction works are estimated to take thirteen (13) months to complete.
3 WORK PHASES
3.1 The works programme is divided into two phases. Phase 1 involves the construction of the parking apron, hangarage facilities, and other ancillary buildings. This shall be carried out outside of the airside areas and construction is expected to commence from 01st October 2026 and will end on 01st November 2027.
3.2 Phase 2 involves the construction of the taxiway connecting the new parking apron to the existing Compass Swing Apron and construction of the service road diversion to connect Post No. 5 to the existing service road via the SAE Apron. Phase 2 shall be carried out during the airport non-busy hours with prior arrangement with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) to avoid disruption to aircraft operations. Phase 2 construction works are expected to commence from 01st December 2026 to 02nd November 2027. When completed this new connecting taxiway shall be named Taxiway M3.
4 CONCLUSION
4.1 This AIC is issued to provide advance information on the proposed development works at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Detailed operational information affecting flight operations, including temporary operational procedures, movement area restrictions, aerodrome operating conditions, aerodrome charts and implementation dates, will be promulgated separately through AIP Supplement and supported by NOTAM, where applicable.
